View the compression ratio of a storage group

Data compression efficiency is a measurement of the relative reduction in size of data representation that is produced by a data compression algorithm. It is typically expressed as the division of uncompressed size by compressed size.

Prerequisites

Users must have at least Monitor rights to view the data reduction ratio. See Roles and associated permissions to determine the user roles that can perform this task.

Steps

  1. Select a storage system.
  2. Select Storage > Storage Groups .
  3. Select a storage group and click An icon showing the letter i, signifying information.
The Data Reduction, Data Reduction Ratio, and VP Saved fields for the selected storage group are displayed.

If data reduction is enabled on the storage group, a tick appears in the Data Reduction field. If data reduction is disabled, a horizontal dash is shown.
